Visit Our Shop | Safety & Visitor Information

We love having visitors!

There's always something happening at Hanna Race & Design, and we love welcoming fellow Raptor enthusiasts, customers, and friends to see the shop, talk trucks, and check out what we're building. Whether you're stopping by with a question or just want to see the work firsthand, we're glad you're interested in visiting.

Since we're also a working fabrication and performance shop, you'll see welding, machinery, vehicle work, and other projects in progress. We have a few simple guidelines to help keep visits safe, relaxed, and enjoyable for everyone.

Before heading into the workshop

Just check in with our team first. We'll let you know which areas are open to visitors and where you can safely take a look. Depending on the work underway, some sections may be temporarily off-limits.

If you're entering an active workshop or service area, please wear:

  • Closed-toe shoes — no sandals or flip-flops.
  • Long pants.
  • A shirt.
  • Safety glasses appropriate for the area.

Not sure what you need? Ask a team member before entering. Some work areas require additional protective equipment, and safety glasses alone are not sufficient for active welding or chemical-spray operations.

A few things to keep in mind while visiting

  • Stay with the team or in visitor-approved areas. We can help you find a good place to see the builds without getting in the way of active work.
  • Give the crew room to work. Keep clear of welding and grinding, spraying, lifts, raised vehicles, running engines, forklifts, and moving equipment.
  • Look out for moving trucks and equipment. Watch for vehicles entering or leaving service bays, hot parts, and shop traffic.
  • Please don't touch or operate vehicles, tools, or machinery unless an HRD team member has expressly authorized you.
  • Follow posted signs and team instructions. We may close off part of the workshop when a project requires extra space or safety precautions.

One important thing about welding

We do a lot of welding here, and we're happy to show you the projects in progress—but please never look directly at an active welding arc or its bright flashes, even for a moment. Welding light can injure your eyes and skin. Regular shop safety glasses are not adequate protection against an exposed welding arc.

Please stay behind designated welding screens or barriers, don't peek around welding curtains, and keep clear of active welding areas. If welding starts nearby, turn away and move to a visitor-approved area or ask an HRD team member where it's safe to stand. Anyone who must be exposed to welding light needs the correct task-specific protection and filter lenses—not ordinary safety glasses alone.

For more information, see California's arc-welding screening rules and eye-protection requirements.

Parking, driving, and vehicle movement

When you arrive, please park where our team directs you. Customers and visitors should not drive into or through the workshop or service bays without permission and guidance. Only authorized HRD personnel may move vehicles within active service areas or conduct approved customer-vehicle test drives. Those employees must be properly licensed and follow shop authorization procedures and applicable road rules.

Our team moves vehicles at a safe, controlled speed, stays alert for pedestrians and forklifts, and uses a spotter whenever visibility, clearance, or backing conditions require one. Vehicle movement stops if a path is not clear or contact with a required spotter is lost.

Behind-the-scenes shop safety

There's a lot of equipment involved in building Raptors. For everyone's safety, only authorized, appropriately trained and evaluated personnel may operate forklifts or other restricted machinery. Under California's forklift operator-training rules, employers document operator training and evaluation; this is not a general state-issued forklift license.

We also limit unnecessary engine idling indoors and follow applicable exhaust, ventilation, and work-area controls for running engines, welding, grinding, and chemical spraying. Visitors should stay out of these active work areas unless staff confirm access is appropriate.

California workplace safety information

California employers must maintain an effective written Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) and evaluate applicable requirements for chemical hazard communication, safety data sheets, ventilation and exposure controls, eye and face protection, and employee training. These are ongoing workplace responsibilities; this page is for visitor information and does not replace required safety programs, documentation, training, or on-site precautions.

For reference, see the official Cal/OSHA standards for IIPP, hazard communication, eye and face protection, and forklift operator training.

Automotive service and fabrication may involve exhaust, fuels, solvents, sprays, and dust. For more information about potential chemical exposures, see our California Proposition 65 Information. This page does not replace any warning required for a specific product, workplace exposure, or shop activity.

We look forward to seeing you
